Notes from radio/amp upgrade
I would like to propose an addendum to “Bob’s FOUR channel sound system documentation”, but didn’t know whether it was okay to post on a Sticky thread, so I’m posting here.
First, I would like to thank Bob for his excellent documentation. I just completed my second radio upgrade and have independently verified a lot of his information. I have included one file noting (in yellow) where I think there was a translation error with the +/- labels at the power amplifier.
Plus during my work I determined that the wires to the Power Amp from Fuse 23 in the Underhood Accessory Fuse Block labeled “Hot in on/run and start” are actually hot all the time (not switched). I had intended to use those wires to power my replacement amp but changed my mind upon finding out the were always live.
One other note/warning: I have two different versions of the Crossfire service manual (2004 Crossfire service manual and 2005 Crossfire SRT6 service manual). Pinout locations for electrical connections sometimes differ (other than just for model differences), so user beware.
