Default 2006 Limited OEM radio

Radio turns on and the display works. There is no audio at all not even a buzz. Had to replace the battery in the car and radio hasn’t worked since. It had been finicky for a while and will work sporadically before the battery replacement. Any suggestions. Thanks.

Is there output from the head to the amp? The failure of the battery (or what caused that failure) could have taken out the AM/FM head (what you call the 'radio") or it could have taken out the amp.
Either your head unit or amp is bad, you are assuming (is seems) that the fault is in the head (radio), this is not always the case.

I suspect the amp is where the issue is. Have you verified the fuse to the amp? (Fuse 23 in the underhood box, in most model/year variations, check the card in the fuse box lid to be sure.)

many thanks for the quick reply. I will check the fuse and hopefully that will fix it. Thanks again.
is the amp a separate component from the radio or is it located within the radio or the head?

The AMP is separate and I believe it is located under the passenger floor in front of the passenger seat

Gary is right, it's under the feet of your passenger. Base/SE cars do not have an amp. Limited/SRTs have the amp.

Am curious, there is a fuse in the back of the radio. When blown, what exactly doesn't work on the radio? Just a thought. If you want to check the fuse there, you have to have the radio keys placed into the lower left and right slots (and push in being careful to have the right key in the right slot and the left key in the left slot).I can not remember if this fuse has ever been mentioned before as to if when blown, the display lights up or not. Also, a few posts before has a reset for the radio when it acts up but again, I don't remember what was done when the reset is done correctly (buttons or some sequence). Good luck!
