Thumbs up Re: Seat bottom heater doesn't work...

The heated seats in my Roadster Limited have been totally replaced and are working fine. No dings, dents...etc car was returned in perfect condition.

My driver's side seat was almost entirely replaced to fix the bottom heater. The dealer had to send it out to an upholsterer to fix once the parts came in. The dealer stated that it cost them approximately $1,800 in parts and labor. Good thing it is under warranty.

well there you go under warrenty means it does not cost the dealer anything, just the manufacturer, CHRYSLER. so if they had done a better design of seat heater then they would not have to pay out. everyone, make sure the heaters are workin just before the 3 year date! i have had two done and i only use them for sitting on and warming my rear...

I'd like to know from those that had this fixed, do they replace the leather seat cover or just the element inside it. Now both my seat bottom heaters don't work. I might want them fixed, but I don't want them messing up my interior and I know they will. My lovely five finger dealer.

Cool Re: Seat bottom heater doesn't work...

Had both seats in my Roadster Limited recently replaced under warranty. The fixed consisted of both the bottoms and backs on each seat being replaced. The backs and bottoms came with new leather covers. Now in your case if your bottoms are not working and the backs are... they will only replace the bottoms and vice versa. The seats are expensive, in my case the Service Manager said the warranty fix cost was $5,437.96. Also be aware that your Xfire may be sent out to an upholstery shop for the installation. A word to the wise...if you have illuminated door sills cover them up before taking the car in, nothing happen to mine, but just a precaution it is a tight space.

My heat went out the week before the car got smooshed. I get it back this Friday (hopefully) and will then have to go to the dealer for the seat.

I splurged and went with the 7 year bumper to bumper warranty and plan to use it to the fullest!

I like the different cost that people are quoted by their dealer, so far none has been the same. I guess Chrysler dealers don't know how to fix a darn thing. If they did then the prices would be c loser together. Plus some dealers are saying the had to send the seat out when you look a the service manual it sows how to replace everything, so a dealer can do it their self's. All the parts come in preassembled so all you have to do is replaces parts. Once this bad design leaves the warrantee time all crossfire owners will be getting ripped off big time. This is why the car US manufactures are having so much trouble!
