Hi all,
I am asking for a friend who has a 2010 2.7 L Crossfire. She has been told by her mechanic that the right hand exhaust camshaft and gear are shot, but cannot find a replacement? She is now looking at selling her car, (which she loves), for a greatly reduced price. Is this true that cams and gears cannot be sourced? Surely not!

 

First off, there is no such thing as a 2.7 L Crossfire, they are ALL 3.2 L and the engine is common to any Mercedes that has "320" or "32" in it's model number.
Also the model years are 2004 thru 2008, there was no 2010.
You can source any number of parts from Mercedes, parts stores or breaker yards.

 

Thanks ala_xfire, I was only going on what I was told. I own a 300C so know very little about Crossfires. But thought it was very strange that she was told that cams for that model weren't available, even in Australia, where we live.I will pass on the info.

 

Even if it's not a Crossfire.. perhaps a Sebring? the 2.7L is still easy to find parts for!

 

Hey Sturmpanzerwagen, if the car is actually a Crossifire with 3.2 V6 I have a couple of spare engines in Brisbane

 

Guess we never figured out the mystery on which vechile it actually was a year ago.
