I spotted a crossfire today!!!
Re: I spotted a crossfire today!!!
I saw a grey Crossfire Coupe at Payless grocery store Beck Lane and Old 231 yesterday. The owner said he was from West Lafayette, Ind. and had owned it for 4 years. He had never heard of the .org Forum before and so I told him about it and invited him to join.
Re: I spotted a crossfire today!!!
Must have been the same gray coup I spotted a couple months ago. Hope he joins the forum.

I spotted this red roadster pulling into a gas station today. I pulled in to talk to the guy and turns out we knew each other from about 30 years ago. Nice looking car. Said he was a member here already but had not been on here lately. Hopefully he will stop in and say hi.

There are a few Crossfires in El Paso, but they're difficult to make contact with. There's an alabaster roadster somewhere very close to where I live, and four coupes: blue, red, gray and black.
Last week I spotted the black coupe heading north on Dyer, and decided to follow it until they stopped. They turned right off Dyer into a residential area and made several random right- and left-turns, ultimately going back to Dyer, presumably to "escape from the stalker". I was driving my Sebring at the time, so they had no idea what I was up to. If the driver of that car reads this post, I meant no harm and I'm sorry to have caused you any discomfort.

Bob it was nice seeing you again today. Glad I pulled over to talk with you. Hey, there is information on here about the "group buy" on the replacement tops. It's still going on I understand. We will have to get all the Crossfires here in town together some time. I only know of 4 of them in town and Larry Hitze owns two of them.

It was he that just had all 7 top cylinders redone.
It was my bad that I had not messaged him about joining us - I won't let that happen again.
BTW:: Brian Andrews at Clay Service and Electronics did that work and proved quite knowledgeable and competent on Crossfire repairs..

Did you ever fit the siren that I fixed?

Let’s not be to quick to judge. Perhaps he's driving the best car he can afford and I’m thrilled that he’s selected a Crossfire
perhaps this is a work in progress or a possibly a future parts car. Let’s celebrate the fact that 16 years later it’s on the road as a daily driver and of all of the entry level used vehicles I think he’s chosen well and received the best bang for his buck.
I do know that when we need parts, we rarely ask “what was the condition and quality of paint on the donor car?”
The car has a story and I think it might be interesting.
Its also not the first hood scoop on a crossfire. Done right it can look really great.
I also think we can all agree that Alabaster is the best colour so good on him.
Sure, right now an ugly duckling but with a ton of potential. No matter what you do, you can’t hide the fact that this is still a great looking car.
