A lowlife coward did a hit and run on my car today. Damage to the right rear quarter, hatch lid and bumper cover.

 

Now that really sucks !!!
Any cameras around the scene of the crime ??
Also which car was it...SRT or NA ??

 

This must be the na as the SRT is in cotton wool and bubble wrap.
That really sucks big time, it must be extensive to get to the hatch, unless a truck hit it. Sorry to hear this news.

I scraped a wheel badly the other year and my immediate reaction was to sell it, I was so pi$$ed off.

Gary, it's my NA, happened @ Homedepot. I spoke with the Manager and he stated "they only video the entrances/exits, can't help me". I was parked all on my own, nothing around me. From the look of the damage to the top of the quarter panel, the hatch panel just below the spoiler and the bumper cover where the three panels meet, it was most likely a truck that backed over the right rear.

 

depends on the position of the camera's...sometimes they will look beyond the entrance...wouldn't hurt to at least look at what they have... talk to their security, not the people up front...

yes, it will not hurt as much once she is restored, but for the thousand out of pocket I spent, I want to ram my tazer up someone's ***....just sayin'....

 

I'm a thousand deductible so it's a BOHICA for me! I figure it's gonna be all of that, it's the paint blend that's got me concerned.

 

the guys here didn't have a bit of trouble blending the side of mine...I'm sure a quality shop up there will do just fine...I know how you feel, I really do...buttheads...

Yup, parked miles from the doors and where nobody goes or at least that's what I thought.

 

I know how you feel,my X boss backed into 3 years aco and I still feel the pain. He paid the full amount for the fix ,but the body shop had a hard time matching the machine grey they finaly brought in a rep from Dupont. The body man is a restorer and his work is first class, an old German Craftsman , but he's 2200 miles from you

 

They never do.

Oh man! Sorry for that trouble, Steve. But it is going to be as good as new when it gets done. As these things go, I'm sure everyone is thankful that it didn't happen on the road and that you weren't in it at the time.

I'd be asking the store management for a list of deliveries for the day/time and ask for permission to post some notices asking for possible witnesses. Someone might have seen it. A friend of mine had his windshield wiper stolen off his Lexus SUV at Home Depot. He asked for the tapes but the manager said store policy prevented him from releasing them. This involves enough money that I would ask the police to make the request on your behalf.

Too, at the end of the day, I think that your ever supportive wife has the right idea.

What a moron that driver was. It's literally a crime!

Sorry to hear this news Steve, I always fear the same thing, I remember seeing a guy do this and I reported him, it also happened to me in a 2 week old service truck I bought when I started my first buisness! lucky for me a tow truck driver reported him and I let the cops charge the guy to the full extent!

 

Well that just sucks!!!
