Out of Storage and back on the road...
In snowier climates, some will keep their cars stored for the winter to 1) avoid being stuck in the snow and 2) to avoid having salt buildup on the car.

I still have my very first brand new car that I purchased when I was 19 years old. Trust me, if I had drove it year round, it would have dissolved years ago.
I didn't get the storage insurance taken off my car this past weekend, and Sunday was fantastic.
I watched the weather report for the rest of the week, and the weather girl said 80% chance of rain on Monday, with the temps never getting lower than 40's all week, and no snow in sight.
So I pull out onto Rt. 224 Monday morning (in my 10 year old Honda) and find both lanes have been covered with "salt brine" by O.D.O.T.
So I'm glad my Crossfire is still parked. Even though it was beautiful today as well.
I live in Ontario's "Snow Belt". Although I'm only an hour from Toronto a typical winter day usually sees at least a 1/2 inch of snow plus our temps are 5 degrees C colder than Toronto. This is Windmill and ski country. When it's not snowin ...it's blowin. AWD is a neccesity up here for safe winter travel which is no place for a Crossfire. Only a week ago most roads were closed up here due to white out conditions yet tonight I took the SRT6 out of hibernation.
Smokin: you may have the time to clean your cars with intense detail after a winter drive, but most people don't. I know I don't. Even if I did have the time, I wouldn't want to put in the effort for such a small return.
Besides, there another really BIG reason I store my car in the winter: THE OTHER DRIVERS! People are idiots and can't drive in bad weather. I'm not wrecking my car because some jag-off doesn't know how to drive.

I think we could all agree that the ravages of winter are much greater and pentrate deeper than what a good thorough "clean up" can accomplish. Lets be realistic.
Well i guess it's true about the old saying DIFFERENT STROKES FOR DIFFERENT FOLKS, so you injoy yours by sitting back & looking at it, & i'll injoy mine by useing it.

I consider this car as a limited production model that will become a classic, that's why I think many want to keep it away from the salt as much as possible. Although I agree with the winter we had this year you could have driven it and not seen too much salt at least in my area it only snowed a few days.
PS - Took out the XF last weekend, only problem I had was the brakes seem softer than when I put it in storage & the BAS EPS light cam on a couple times. I'm hoping storing it didn't gum up the brake fluid or cause some seals inthe system to fail...
Anyone have a similar issue when they took theirs out of storage?

Anyone have a similar issue when they took theirs out of storage?Did you have the battery disconnected? If so, the ESP needs to calibrate on start up by doing a full range steering(left and right) turn and then the light will go out
I had the battery connected and used a "battery tender" .
The light is not on constant, it just came on a couple times.
Brakes still work it's just like I have to press the pedal half way down before they start to kick in. If i pump them once or twice they brake better, almost like there is air in the line but I hav enot opened the system and the fluid is fulol and nice clear golden colour.
There is another member on the forums that had the same issue and he thinks its the master cylinder going or gone bad?? I'm just stummped as the brakes were perfect when it went into storage https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum/wheels-brakes-tires-suspension/55027-bas-eps-brakes-not-working-when-brought-out-storage-new-post.html
