Default Classic/specialty car insurance?

Wondering if anyone is insured as a specialty or modern specialty car, in Ontario? Assuming these are 'toys' for many of you, and were there any issues getting insured as such. I have classic insurance on two vehicles now but they are 33 and 47 years old, so qualifying wasn't a question...I've no experience insuring a newer specialty car.

American Classic and JCTaylor both will insure a modern "exotic".

My SRT6 is insured with Hagerty through Lant as a special interest vehicle at an agreed upon value. No appraisal is required. They are located near Toronto.

Thanks bluecoupe; glad to hear that, as I'm with Hagerty now for my two 'oldies'.

I too am with Hagerty in Michigan, same deal they assign a value to your vehicle, it must not be a daily driver, it must be an additional vehicle to the number of drivers in the family, if you have 2 drivers it must be the 3rd of 4th car

And it must be garaged on your property you live at.

Might I ask what value? I had to kick and scream to get Hagerty to $15K. They wanted ME to prove the value since their dealer only auction websites were showing $8500 auction value. Then when they did say OK and gave me a price they reneged on the deal because of no garage and upped the price $300!

Problem is that the Crossfire is too new to be considered an antique. (most require 1998 and earlier).

Hagerty had no issue with the age of the car.
