I noticed a few people placing votes and comments on cars in other decades and then asking for them to reciprocate on their car. Just a thought.

Thanks team. The votes are much appreciated. Like I said earlier, this is not just a prize I want for my car. It's a prize I want for the Crossfires. We have quite a challenge to get to 1st place, but we are only about 11 "10s" votes from second.

Your support is not just for me, but for all our Crossfires. I would hate for us to lose to a Smart car.....

We have enough members here to win 1st prize.

Go Crossfires........

Chalk up another tally. I just want to know what kind of people would even consider voting for a Smart car as the car of the decade; it looks like one section shy of a full Lego block.

I strongly suspect it has nothing to do with it being a "hot" car or a nice car or a fun car. It has to do with "visionary" thinking and "saving the planet".

To those people, what is important is not what is important to you or me - it is purely philosophical.

It's the "car of the decade" because it represents "thinking that will save the planet and transform our economy and culture".

I really don't want to inject politics into this thread... just answering a question.

Exactly. The whole purpose in the development of the Smart car was to make a car that could easily maneuver the tight streets & parking spaces in Europe. NOT gas mileage.

I could see this one competing with you, but not that little box. Like you said, a huge network...I say tree huggers that don't even realize it only gets 34mpg and there are loads of cars out there that get better than that.

That one is pretty cool! The whole smart car thing is nothing but a big cult following.

Well, we reached 2nd place last night thanks to all of you who voted. Now the big battle. We need about 30 votes of "10" ratings to catch the Smart car.

Let's continue the good work team.

Oh btw, my daughter tried voting using my PC and their system came back saying she had voted already. She contacted Texaco and here is their response. You may have the same issue.

In order for you to vote for your dad’s car, you need to:
Logout of the website.
Clear your computer’s cookies.
Close and reopen the web browser.
Login back into the website and place your vote.

If you have any question or issue, please send us an email.

Thanks,
Texaco Team
