Looks like we will be missing the Chrysler Nationals in Carlisle PA this weekend, first time in 8 years. Just spoke to the transport company that's delivering my 71 Dart, told me to expected around noon on Saturday. I was looking forward to seeing and hanging with friends, oh well always next year.. Have fun everyone.

 

Tony, you and Carmilla will be missed. Good luck with the Dart delivery. Were you thinking of driving to MD for the COM show 8/10/13? IF so PM me.

THURSDAY'S WEATHER UPDATE!


The latest weather forecast for Friday thru Sunday has changed to include possible thundershowers for Friday and Saturday. Looks to be partly sunny and in the high 70's for Friday and mid 80's for a Saturday, hopefully this will change to the previous forecast, for the show!

I certainly hope so. Drove the XFire to Maryland this week to work and will be making the short drive to Carlisle on Friday afternoon. A few days of decent weather would go a long way to making the trip worthwhile.

Just wanted to say thank you for all the time spent throughout this year updating and maintaining this thread and the one on CICCI and Facebook to coordinate this event once again this year.
Sad to hear that you will be missing it this year but I hope that the 71 Dart arrives as you have been told and at the time you have been told so you can still have a memorable weekend for a different reason.

I know if that car isn't delivered when you have been told the entire mafia will be hunting down that trucking company to find out who is responsible...lol

Thanks Gary. They better have it here on time is right. I look forward to this event every year and start planning the day after it ends for the next year, I'm not going to miss all the cars but will miss all the friends that we have made over the years that we keep meeting at this great event each year. I was also looking forward to the new people from this forum and CICCI that we were going meet. I hope everyone has a great time, be safe, see you all next year.

I will have a complete set of the winshield surrounds with me this year. They were professionally painted SSB to match my SSB SRT6. I had 2nd thoughts and still do about the monotone look.

Hate to hear the news Tony.....but, we are packing right now for an early start in the morning. You east coaster's get that rain forecast changed. Dry weather for the weekend. We have had enough rain this year. I just closed on an E350 4matic that came out of Jersey. I can't pick it up until 1st of the week. No delivery for me. LOL.... I will miss your company Tony....next meet maybe..

July is a jinx for my family. One son is sick, I now have a sore throat/ headache. We shall see what morning brings. I don't know what is about July, but we have no luck....in July. The son that is sick right now, but getting better was just about killed in a 4th of July parade when he was 11 yrs old. I haven't liked July since. He's 28 and fine now, except for the same sore throat headache thing. It's all the rain and cool weather I guess. Hopefully we will all be better in the morning.

What's the weather looking like for the show? Was thinking about coming up tomorrow but if everything/one is in hiding I'm not sure I want to do the 6 hour round trip . hope it's okay up there!

Just looked at Accu weather for Carlisle, they are predicting rain showers at 5:00AM and thundershowers around 2:00 PM on Saturday, looks kinda iffy. I'm more concerned about the grass fields, if they are muddy, due to all of the rain we've received in Pennsylvania the past 30 days.

Attended my 1st Chrysler Nationals with the 2007 Limited Coupe. Met a lot of new friends and fellow enthusiasts. Weekend was sorta down & up. Rained Friday evening & then lightly rained all morning Saturday. Started up at the showfield while I was finishing up cleaning the wheels. Folks probably wiped their cars down 2-3x that morning. Clouds finally left shortly before noon and the afternoon was actually somewhat nice. Humid but with a breeze. CICCI/COM put together a little cookout for us back at the hotel Friday evening. Really a very nice social event. My hats off to those that had an active role in putting this together.

Lots of great looking XFires. Don't remember the exact split but we were somewhere around 30 cars in attendance. Interesting factoid - no red or white XFires in attendance! Can't remember a major event without a white or red XFire showing up. Got quite a few pictures of showfield - XFires, Prowlers, & Vipers. We were all together. Even snagged a 3rd Place Carlisle award for the 2007 Machine Gray Limited Coupe (once again - the ONLY Machine Gray XFire in attendance!). Had several fellow XFire Owners ask me about the car. Some had never seen a Machine Gray version or even knew that color existed. That's one of the reasons why I bought it! Will post pictures this week.

Got home Sunday evening around 6:30 PM. Uneventful drive home. Hope everyone else made it home safe.
