WTB SRT with under 50,000 miles
Hi
This is kind of a longshot but here goes: I am a previous owner of a 2004 Crossfire Ltd. Looking for a low mileage SRT with clean history and carfax. Coupe or roadster is ok. Not picky on colour. Will pay up to $15,000 based on mileage and condition. Here is the catch:I am located in Calgary Ab Canada. If car can be delivered I will pay for your flight back and travel expenses (within reason-will discuss with seller). I am willing to drive within 12 hours (Oregon,Wash,Idaho,Mt,Minn etc) to pick car up or meet you. Prefer delivered if possible. I will of course pay in USD. So anyone wanting to unload their SRT and really enjoys road tripping- please contact me ASAP as I am looking at going the ebay route right now with delivery through DAS shippers. Also anyone in the NW US looking to sell their srt6 please e-mail me. E-mail : bk.neil@shaw.ca
Thanks

I'd be real carefull doing it this way. The car has to be cleared through customs (US and Canada) properly or it will end up in a impound lot with about 20,000 other cars that were not brought up here properly. You will need R.I.V paperwork, GST payment, Bill of sale, Clear Title, US Customs Clearance, Letter of no outstanding recalls from Chrysler, etc. If you do not follow the proper procedures..... it will cost you large.
Do your research and you may decide to have the car shipped to Canada using a professional automobile shipper. They will handle everything.
Just my advice.

Thanks but:
My 2004 Crossfire Ltd I had I bought in Florida (Stuart) and imported it.
The process is very simple and took me maybe 10 minutes at the US border leaving, and 20 minutes at the Canadian border importing it. A DRL install ($200), prov inspection and 2 min(if that) federal inspection, and Bob's your uncle- the Crossfire has changed its citizenship.
To say it is a difficult or complex process is kind of BS.
Anyone who has their car impounded because they were too dumb to follow the instructions online probably should not be driving anyways.
My 2 cents.

Hi
Delivering to door doesn't make it any more difficult. You just take it to the customs office in town and do the paperwork there. In Calgary it is right beside the airport. My dad did this for a lexus rx350(also from Florida) delivered to his door- does not make it any more complex.

It can be a very difficult and costly experience for someone who has not done their research or due diligence prior to attempting to import a vehicle. I was merely trying to help by giving some heads up advice to someone that I had assumed had never done it before. I didn't know I was dealing with a know it all. Sorry for trying to help.

I said thanks for your initial post for the heads up. It just said a bunch of stuff that is not true.
" it will end up in a impound lot with about 20,000 other cars that were not brought up here properly"
I appreciate your advice but I am looking for a srt, this was not a thread on importation that you are trying to discourage.

Actually everything I stated was true. And why would I discourage anyone from bringing an SRT into Canada?.......thats exactly what I did just four months ago and I am thrilled with my car and the whole importing experience..... largely due to the help I received from many members on this forum. They basically gave me the exact same advise I was offering to you.
