Do alot of people try to race you?
Okay, I've owned my share of fast cars, but this is getting ridiculous. Everywhere I try to go, people try to race me. Maybe it's because the weather is getting nice?
I like to drive really slow when people try to race me. I know I can beat them, so why think about it. If I drive below the speed limit by 5 mph, they get really pissed!
Besides, going slower means that people get a better chance to check out the car!

Might as well get used to it. I've experienced it since before buying the Crossfire. I bought a 300C last year as well as the Crossfire and I can't seem to get away from that sort of behavior regardless of which car I am driving.

Just the other day, I was on my way to work. There was a guy in one of those 15 passenger vans rocking back and forth at a stop light. I just let him speed past and in less that two minutes a police officer was on his tail pulling him over. I passed and waved at him. He was ticked.
The racing does seem to be getting worse with the warm weather. I have only had my XF since Feb '06. I am sure, I am going to have more people trying to race me when I get the new Challenger RT when it comes out.

I don't remember seeing any non-GM cars in that dream car garage photo that you posted a while back. And I don't think anybody here would criticize you for wanting another Camaro. I know I sure wouldn't.

A kid in a rice burner last year blew me away like i was standing still. He had modified it to the max but it was a 4 cyl so i thought it should be close but no way. Of course that kind of hp boost on a 4 cyl means a short life span.
Yesterday i was in my dads car going to buy new wheels with him. And some 20 year old in a Z wanted to race, but my dad is a little kid and went along.
lol
He bought TSW mondello's hyperblack with mirror lip... i'll post pics soon.

This sounds like a good thread to get back on my "rear gear is too high" soapbox. I have the auto, and if you force a downshift, at higher speeds, It'll surprise alot of cars - I don't think there are that many production cars out there that can hang from a 70-drop-to-third kind of roll-on. That being said - leaving it to 'kickdown" itself is asking for embarrassment - particularly just out of the gate, if it has already shifted into second. With the combo of high rear-end ratio and not huge amount of torque - This thing couldn't pull a greasy string out of a cat's a** - out of the hole! (sorry - I grew up in the south).
All the time! All the Ricers with fart cans want to race. I even had some clown in a new PT Cruiser convertible pull up to me on the highway and attempt to launch. All I could see was the GAP in his fender wells, the high center of gravity, and his big clunky head hanging out the window. I could just imagine watching him flipping and rolling down the median as I pass by in STYLE with a SMILE.
