Default Just My Luck

Well if anyone remembers from a while back, I've been trying to keep my Crossfire in the best condition possible, keeping the miles down, etc. Well it was a nice day so I decided to take her out for a short drive. Then out of NOWHERE it started hailing. I don't believe it left any dents in the car. I just sat in amazement at my luck. I've put 150 miles on the car since I bought it in January and the one day I drive it, this happens. Well, this weekend I decided to give the Crossfire a long overdue wash and wax and while I was doing so I noticed a handful of little paint chips all over the car from the hail stones. I almost cried, I can't believe it. Is there anything I can do to maybe cover it up, or should I just bare it and go on with my life? Any of you guys have any stories like this, it just seems that when I got the car it was too good to be true, and this is my punishment.

2005Base, I'm sorry to hear about your misfortune, it really sucks when Mother Nature is out to get you. It's happened to me a couple of times over the years, and I've always been close to a tree to park under, a covered gas station, or I was able to stop under a bridge. Once it started to hail just as I turned into my parents driveway, the garage door was open and I gunned it. I very nearly drove thru the back of the garage. But at least my car didn't get hailed on.
Since your car is black, you should be able to touch up the chips in your paint with a brush, and it shouldn't look to bad if you build the paint up in layers, and then rub it smooth. As for the actual dents, a paintless dent removal company can handle those.
I don't know what your insurance deductible is, but if it cost too much to have the dents removed, then turn it in to your insurance co. It wound affect your premium since it wasn't your fault. Good Luck!

I too have a handful of small paint chips. I ordered some touch up paint/clearcoat/rubbing compound but have yet to use it due to conflicting views that the paint would actually look worse with the touch up.

My deductible is $500 dollars, so I don't think I'll be asking them for money... but I don't know if I should touch it up or not. I guess I'll just think about it for a while. My dad had to touch up his car (he got hit with a few stones on the parkway) and it doesn't quite match his car color (even though he got the factory brand color). I just don't want to ruin it even more. Oh well. Sorry to rant.

2005BASE,
Try some new body shops, my friend owns a body shop with a new booth and computer mixing room and can match old paint very well. He made me some touch up for my red Miata and it matched great and I am picky. I feel sure someone where you are must have the same ability.

That's not a bad idea, I'll look into it. Thanks for your help.
