car vibrates at idle/engine shakes???
as above; had car 3 weeks... on idle (auto) the car seems to "shudder"; on looking at engine this seems to be when engine does occasional move side to side (seems to be ticking over fine though)... also i can push engine side to side easily maybe 1/2 cm... is this the same for other cars?... thanks, steve
How many RPM on idle? I remember some had problems an idle too, some even stalled. The problem there were defect mass sensors. 3 weeks, you surely have warranty. Bring your baby in to be checked.
it is a 2004 car from main agent... does have balance manufacturers warrenty... but it's not really that bad and car drives fine so i think others may say they get that and "normal"???... thanks, steve
I have a 2005 roadster...and at idle...it is very subtle...but feels like the engine missing some times...with a slight vibration. Do not know if this is normal or not...or if its the same problem you are having.
You folks are losing your minds... 1st thing is the engine is not allowed to move about in the engine compartment, only some what if
your goosing the gas is the engine allowed to move due to the rubber in the motor mounts, but there is no hopping around under the
hood... 2nd thing is if you got a misfire in the firing of the spark plugs or whatever then you got some kind of a problem, you need to
have it checked out and insist it be repaired, remember missing is not allowed, the rule is "if the engine is missing today, it'll be dead
tomorrow" so get it fixed.
Remember No hopping around, and NO miss in the engine. hooah

Mine has had a side to side shake at idle since shortly after I bought it. The dealers I have taken it to have been unable to fix it. And Chrysler just recommends taking it to another dealer.
MERCEDES M112 ENGINE:
To deal with the inherit vibration problems of a 90 degree V6, a balancer shaft was installed in the engine block between the cylinder banks. This essentially eliminated first and second order vibration problems. (when it's installed properly).
Good luck, could be a boat load of other things, but if the dealer says the car is firing fine and not throwing codes to the DRBIII, then you need to look inside at the balancer shaft.

thanks for replies... FirebaseD you need to find out your facts!!! though your reply did prompt me to find out myself... went to main dealer and asked the service manager his opinion... he said felt and looked normal... said there will be some slight subtle moving due to hydraulic engine mounts and that if that didn't happen the engine would be damaged by internal shaking... ok i thought but "do you mind if i have the key to the other crossfire here???"... after testing that i would say they all do the same!!!... including the side to side 1/2 cm move on "pushing"... my car is "normal"... this is what i thought after it has covered only 9,000 miles... all car are different in their characteristics... i have had a lot of cars... including high performance cars... so this is my i "informed opinion"... steve
