CTD-Germany Custom Front Grill Group Buy
right, but we have let the forum know, that we have build a fiberglass frame. i think it looks much nicer than our fake picture. more aggressive. it was too much mesh and looks like bbq.
i hope you like it anyway.

i'll have to see the finished product before i provide my complete thoughts...
as for now... it seems like much more fiberglass than heavy mesh.
regardless... the option for a change is nice.

Still when on the car it could look amazing!
I think it is going to look great. The photoshop that they had posted was way too much mesh. I think this is going to be a winner. I hope so anyway. You go, Tino!
I will be waiting for real pictures...can't wait to see it. But, I do feel that the frame is a bit too thick. I will wait to see the finished product on a vehicle first though. Also, how much will it cost and how much of a savings will there be?
Tell you guys what, and I am prepared to take flack for this - but you are all whining about something that has taken time to produce. If you all can design and fabricate something better - then why haven't you already. Holy Crud - how about - "wow, that is not exactly what I was expecting however I am sure with some more R & D it will be a great piece".
Just my .02
Personally - I think that that peeve combined with the lower mesh grills will be stunning on my Black LTD Coupe.

Can anyone photoshop the actual grill on to the xf so that we can start getting an idea.
I doubt CTD would build a grill if they didn't know it would look great actually on the car.
Your lady got a dress that looks great on but awful on the hanger.

now it will even cost more money for the final product ?!?
unless... ctd is going to provide them in factory colors... doubt it.
it will be the 1k grill job (upper & lower)...

but we all know... a body shop won't fill a gun/sprayer with paint for under $100 job.

i would sure hope the new replacement grill follows the factory attachment pattern/design in order to reinstall if/when necessary.
I don't know, but it seems that this project has become a mountain rather than a molehill.
This is a far different look than the "Bentley Effect" and others, even the Chrysler 300 customs. Got a feeling the price is going to be much more than any of us anticipated.
No wonder this has taken so long. I think they would have been smart to have done
a dummy of this design and gotten feedback from the group before getting this far along.
I know I was a big supporter of the original idea and now am wondering.

Exactly. I don't think anyone is whining about this -- we were just a little surprised about the significant differences between the first and second prototypes, particularly given the striking mesh effect of the lower grilles that CTD developed a few weeks ago. No one is dissing the work that went into this project, and we look forward to seeing the finished product when it's ready.
I don't think we can copy the Bentley grill because of copyright issues.
This is a CTD-Germany original and it should look good once it is chromed and mounted in the front bumper. It looks a little thick in this angle because the photo is taken from above.
Do you still want your name on the list?
