Default tire wear

I have nearly 11,000 miles on my '05 Crossfire. I recently picked up a nail & was able to repair the tire. The service rep said I could expect to get around 20,000 miles on the tires (stock michelins). He said they looked like tires with 60,000 + miles. They still appear new to me. Can anyone give me their experience on tire wear. I understand new tires are in the $350.00 + range.

I have 30,000 miles on my original Michelin Pilots and I still have a bit of tread. However I've kept the wheels up by checking their tire pressure constantly, also getting the car aligned on time.

I was able to get 32,000 before replacing.

i've got 37K on my pilots, and they're just about ready to go. they're not on the bump indicators yet, but i don't think they'd pass inspection -- will be replaced sometime this month.

I've got 14,000 miles on mine and the rears look like they are just about finished. I'm sure I can squeeze another 5,000 out before replacing.

I'm still trying to understand that one?!?!

The best thing you could do is buy a tread depth gauge for a couple of bucks at any auto parts store and check your tires periodically. That will give you about as accurate an estimate as can be had on how many miles you may have left on your tires. There are just too many variables between individuals and the type of driving they do, and how they drive. One person could get 30,000 and another only 10,000.

Just hit 28k with mine. I would guess they will last till around 40,000. They both seem to have the same amount of tread wear. I will definitely go with them again.
