Radio
Hi, I am new to the forum. I drive a '04 crossfire coupe. Very pleased with the car only had it a week. Can anyone help with a little problem. The radio reception is rubbish. The radio will hold the stations but with terrible interference.
I haven't experienced this problem. I also have a coupe and the built in antenna in the rear glass seems to work just fine.
I'd get it checked at a reputable stereo installation shop. It may be something simple like a loose or not completely seated antenna connector on the back of the stereo.
Do you have the factory unit? (It should be silver with silver buttons and a monochrome display).

I have a static situation going on with my radio. I get a series if 3 static-like sounds off and on while driving. I've thought it was maybe my phone interfering with the reception, and that might still be the case, but the phone was not plugged into the adapter and it was not ringing nor active when I hear the static's...I do have an Igo recharger for my phone after my original would not charge my phone. However I had the static before and after these adapters. Any ideas???
GolferGal,
If you have Cingular service, you will hear your phone interfere from time to time. It happens on most amplified stereo systems... home or automotive.
It's actually the cell phone interference hitting your amplifier and/or speakers... I've just learned to tune it out.
If you are not with Cingular... you can find out if it's your phone by turning your phone off when you drive the car (presuming you're not expecting any important calls). If you still get the static, it's not your phone.

Am I understanding that this might be specific to Cingular?
I have Cingular and have the problem with my speaker phone at work but haven't noticed it in my Crossfire.

I have a Roadster with the black stubby antenna on the left rear quarter panel. Radio reception is not so great on AM, sometimes problematic on FM. I have Verizon, by the way, so it's not a cell phone issue either.
I have an '04 crossfire. Radio reception was pretty good at the beginning. Not as good as other cars in hilly or remote areas.
Recently, the a.m. reception became intermittent. Going to work it was fine. Coming home it was not. Pretty soon, the a.m. was terrible all the time, unless I am very near the location of the station.
Had Chrysler check it out. They said everything is fine. The pulled out the radio and ensured the antenna was connected. It still does not work.
I suspect the connection between the rear window and the radio is bad. I had air-line issues that went through the same part of the rear hatch (frequent bending of rear lock's air line caused it to tear, allowing air to escape rather than unlock the hatch).
I'm trying to disassemble the console and accessible antenna lines myself. Not much luck yet.
