Chrysler finally changed their website!
Chrysler finally changed their website! It actually says 2006 with one new pic. The SRT-6 is gone from the "Build your own Crossfire" section. Does that mean we are going to start seeing more 2006's on Chrysler's dealer lots? The amount of 2006's on autotrader.com has tripled in the last month.

still no explanation of the 'monochromatic' scheme they listed some time ago... and oyster gold looks terrible in the colorizer. it looked much better in the other photos that are somewhere on the forum --
good find though.
good find though.
And isn't it truly amazing that they finally got around to selling 2006's when we're already in 2007 and some manufacturers are already starting to promote their 2008 models?
To make a long story short, the crossfire is built alongside the slk in Germany. Everything but the body is just like the last generation slk. The body was contracted out to an outside producer (Karmann??). The contract with this outside producer and Chrysler is good until it expires in late 2007 or the very beginning of 2008. Basically it was cheaper to keep producing crossfires instead of buying out the remainder of the contract.
Now, if I were Chrysler I would have just skipped model year 2006 and named them 2007. BUT, since some 06's were floating around over seas for the past year, this didn't make much since.
It really screwed Chrysler over when they had all these extra crossfires sitting at a port and nothing to do with them.
I have compiled all this through research and getting some information from my father who works for DaimlerChrysler.
