Dreamer
I'm in for the Dream Cruise, and will gladly offer up my driveway (about 10 mins. from the Chrysler Museum) as a cleanup / detailing center for the out-of-town X-Fire drivers.
Also, may be able to help with a location on Woodward.

For those of you who have never been to the Woodward Ave. Cruise, just GOOGLE it. There are 73 pages devoted to it.
Trust me, it's not just for people who love classic cars. You will see anything and everything "car" related cruising the Blvd. Old cars, current, and the Big 3 even roll out their "Idea" cars, and if they aren't displaying them, they're usually driving them.
I've seen cars with license plates from practically every state in the Union, and every year it just seems to get bigger and better.
The "locals" set up lawn chairs the whole entire route, and it truly becomes an automotive circus. (There's even a car show at the entrance of a cemetery). Even the local Police departments are pretty cool about it. (as long as things don't get too far out of hand).
Things actually get started several days before the big Saturday event. But Saturday is the official cruise day that you don't want to miss.
As Fuzz40 pointed out, seeing the Chrysler museum would be an excellent idea, maybe on Friday, and the Henry Ford museum is another place everybody should see at least once in their life. (Just allow yourself at least 4 or 5 hours to take it all in).
If you live within a 12 hour drive of Detroit, I honestly think you wouldn't be sorry that you made the trip. Besides, 12 hours in a Crossfire is just getting settled in.

This is great. Sounds like a great adventure. I'm going to start planning. The suggestion for West Coast, in Vegas was great also. Maybe we should have a West Coast Meet and an East Coast Meet first and then work on a joint effort somewhere in between. Hawaii would be nice but it would be a rough drive.
Vegas would be a great Idea for West Coasters! Detroit is 1,905 mi away from the Pacific, roughly 28 hours, (23 if your driving an Xfire).
I'm in for the West Coast meet!
Zeracer... let me know if you need help with the details I have nothing but time at my job!

i would love to see 50 crossfires at one designated chrysler meet.
thoughts?

As Andrew pointed out, that was an excellent hotel for the Carlisle meet.
It would be great to have even more Crossfires show up this year too. REDCROSS did a great job organizing everything, and we couldn't have had a better location to display our cars. (very high pedestrian traffic area).
Since our cars are so new, I think some people thought it was a Chrysler Exhibit.
This show is another great location for everybody on the East Coast, and the entire North Eastern part of the U.S. to get together.
I think it would be great if we could have one giant show in some central location for all of us to come together. But as big as our country is, it's just not that realistic to think we could make it happen.
I think it's much more feasible to take advantage of other venues, like annual car shows, and cruise-ins that are planned in locations all around our country every summer.
Various automotive magazines list these shows and get togethers, and any members who live near these various events could post pertinent information concerning them. That way, if there is some interesting show that you may be willing to do some long distance traveling to see, you may be able to hook up with some fellow Crossfire Forum members while you're at it.
As Iamfink2 (and AeroBlue in the past) has pointed out, the Tail of the Dragon is another event I plan on seeing this year. I bet it would be great to have a contingency of Crossfires show up all at once there.
I wish I could make it down to Orlando to participate in their opening day festivities at their local race track too, but it's just not economically possible for me right now.
I guess the point I'm trying to make is, that there are "Automotive Events" going on all over this here United States, all the time. And if we as group keep the Forum members up to date on them, we may all get a chance to come together as a "club" to meet and greet a little at a time. Which would be better than not at all.
Just my 2 cents.

I guess the best thing is to just share with each other which events we are planning to attend, that welcome newer cars, and all who may wish to join in and share the experience may do so. My hope for a big event was for the fellowship,
publicity, awareness and recognition that would come with it for our fine machines. Mopar collectables were almost non existent until about 10 years ago when they started showing up at events in numbers.

Okay West Coast, I guess we'll work on Vegas or How about the Orange County Cruise at the Orange County Fairgrounds on Saturday Sept. 2nd. You get to cruise around inside the fairgrounds with all of the customs and hot rods. Last years attendance for the one day event was better than 33,
00 cars. They have venders, exhibits, awards, food drink etc.

How does this sound?
Chicago to my house, 5 hrs. 43 min. Thursday evening.
Spend the night here.
Then we can hook up with Andrew on Friday, and cruise another 4.5 hours to Carlisle. Spend the night at Hotel in Mechanicsburg.
Saturday, enjoy the show.
