Drop the pan, you need to change the filter anyway. When you buy a filter it'll come with a gasket for the pan. If it's an automatic make sure you get the torque converter. Then make or order a dipstick and you're good to go. Take your time, and if I can do it you can do it.

I do not know how long the dipstick is, how tall are you?
Down load the Crossfire Service Manual and read it, it is a good source of information. You are getting answers but you are misinterpreting what is said and that could be very damaging to your car.
The auto repair skills of the members on this forum vary a lot, there are those that cannot do their own service, to those that can strip the car, throw all the parts into one box and then reassemble it with no problem.
Before you pick up a wrench you have to decide what your own level of proficiency is on the repair at hand. You obviously are keen to tackle the job so read and understand the requirements before you start. Remember that it is a steep learning curve for some, so take your time and understand each step.
Good luck, I'm sure you will do just fine.

There is no drain on this torque converter from what I can see, you change oil and filter only.
Look at the manual and check if you like.

You asked for help. I gave you the answer, you drain the torque converter because it's got Transmission fluid in it.

All I was trying to do was help, no need to get angry. Do what you like and **** it up for all I'm concerned. I guess next you'll want us to tell you what the proper torque is for all the bolts on the trans case. You could just check the service manual like many of us have :/

From what I'm seeing there is no drain plug in the TC. To drain it the system is drained, refilled and the line at the rad opened, the engine put in gear and the fluid is pumped out, when you see new fluid stop the car and reconnect the line to the rad.
This is probably not required unless you have high miles and burnt fluid, but it is a thorough job.

I don't understand why you feel the need to argue with me? I've done this job, I think I would know???

Now it’s time to drain the torqueconverter (TC).
  • Remove the plastic cover from below the TC and see if the TC drain bolt is there (It’s not). To get the TC bolt at the bottom you will need to put the trans in neutral and either use a screwdriver to rotate the TC or use the 27mm socket and wrench to turn the engine (crank bolt, clockwise only please) until the drain bolt appears.
  • Remove the TC drain bolt with the 5mm allen wrench. NOTE: you would be wise to fashion some sort of device to help the fluid find its way into the drain pan. Its gonna be MESSY!
  • Reinstall TC drain bolt.

Mine had no drain on the TC. Having a drain on your TC is apparently very rare for the crossfire. You are lucky if you do have a drain and the first I have heard of.

some peps say drain the converter as well, AGAIN i get mixed answers to my question, some say this car has a drain plug some say it does not.

Either way once i am done i will post THE CORRECT information one needs to complete this job,and the location of where the Trans drain is located.
