Default My Speeding Ticket :(

Awe, just got a speeding ticket last night. 79 in a 55. But it was on the Baltimore Beltway, the 2nd major roadway in maryland. I don't think it was a unsafe speed, considering no one else was out, the roads were good, and its a 4 lane highway. I agree 24 miles over is a little fast, but not for our major highway. I was almost the only one out, along with a few other cars behind me, i saw the radar set up and i slowed down, but it was too late. Since i was first in line, they clocked me at 79. But i watched and the cops didn't pull out, but i guess he waited for me to turn around the bend, then he pulled out, because once he pulled me over he said he had been passing me for 5 miles. He said i was doing 80, but he had me at 79 on laser, which i know he wasn't shooting laser since it was night, and he was inside his car. But anyway i got a $160 ticket, and i think its 3 points. I'm hoping i can get PBJ since my record is clean and even though i was speeding, it wasn't being reckless. Well i guess i'm lucky he didn't catch me doing 115 which i was doing earlier on that road. I was just driving at around 80 than i seen a Lancer Evo pull in front of me. I knew his is faster then my base coupe, but i still wanted to play. So we just played around for a little getting up to 115. Weren't really racing, but i was just following him not trying to pass. It was fun. But anyway about that ticket, now that ruins all my fun, i used to love cruising around the highway on weekends playing with other cars, now i grounded myself to only driving it to work and when i need to go somewhere, no more joy riding until i get out of court. The cop also asked me why i didn't have a front license plate, and i told him i just bought the car and it didn't come with one, but i was going to put one on soon. So he let me go with that, and he didn't even notice one of my headlights were out. It just burned out yesterday and haven't had time to fix it yet. But my bright xenon foglight lite the road up plenty and it wasn't dangerous at all. So now i'm all sad and have to look out my window at my baby sitting there all lonely.

Well that is the way it goes ~ you were speeding. Sounds to me that you have to deal with your responsibility and integrity <the front plate issue and the fact that you where speeding ~ regardless of the time of day> deal with it. Also ~ pay the fine and watch your insurance rate go up along with added points. Have a nice day!

well first of all, i don't need the attitude. 2nd of all, i was completely safe. and about my license plate, i'm not getting it mounted, it ruins the look, and i don't think i need it. and as far as my insurance, i plan on gettin PBJ and no points since my record is clean and i wasn't reckless at all.

yeah just pay the fine and take Blockbuster Video's drivers education class at home, pass the test and your insurance will be cool.

just for future reference, if your ever street racing another car, and a cop catches you guys racing. you should never be the car that pulls over first. the cop will always let the lead car go, as long as someone pulls over. just another trick you should know if you ever get caught.

thanks. the more i think about it, the more disappointed i am with myself. i already got away not guilty on another speeding ticket on my last car since the cop didn't show up. oh well guess it happens to most people, and i just got a bit of reality. won't be racing on the street anytime soon.
