Developing new intake system
I'm currently developing an intake system that will utilize the factory ram air system through the grill, yet will also feature foam conical filters on both sides.
I'll keep this updated once I receive my materials and get to fabricating.

As with any intake FP, you cannot expect to get huge HP gains. I'd say maybe 5-7 at most. For what its costing me to fabricate it, it'll be worth it. Plus, the intake will give the car a very aggressive tone.

Another question. Can I assume that if I do the ECU mod which would give me 20 HP more, and I do an intake mod as well, I can potentially see 25- 28 more HP?
In response to FP's question...

No, very doubtful.
Unfortunately the HP gains don't usually add up like that.
You'll get some benefit from each, but the total sum will not be that of the parts.

My project is coming along as well as I was quite surprised that the K&N Reverse Conical filters have a hole just wide enough for the factory intake hoses to fit perfectly. Granted, some modding will have to be done but I can funnel cooler air through the grille. Also, air will be pulled in all around...
I'll go take a pic and upload it to show you what I'm talking about...

And even if that is all I get, that's still 2 more hp than you have!
To those that asked: the cost of materials is cheap except for the actual filters I want to use. I will end up paying about $60 for each filter. The other parts might be around $30 total.
