Default Quick questions from a new owner.

Bought a new '05 Coupe Ltd. w/ 16k miles.
(I hope to learn as much as possible about the auto via the collective info on this site).

For starters, maybe someone can shed some light on this situation:

#1 - When the clutch is fully up and the car is in neutral, the car makes a slight rattling noise. If I push the clutch down. The engine sounds fine. If I lift it up, Same problem. Verys light, but when pointed out, noticeable.

#2 - There are a few chips (tiny tiny) on the limited front silver trimming. Is that paint color the stock chrysler silver? I would like to touch it up.

#3 - Dome light is out. Just pop that baby out?

#4 - Looking for a DVD/Radio/LCD replacement. Any suggestions - Looking for ones that fit stick DIN.
-

So far, the car is a dream. My only issues are limited visibility(which I have become used to), and the fact that the it can sometimes be hard to judge the distance in the front. (Keep in mind i've only had this car for one day).

Oh yeah, on the highway, at 70 mph, the car was being blown all over the place by high gusts of wind. How light is this car? it felt like a feather being tossed around. Please advise.

THANKS GUYS!

Firstly congrats and welcome.

Regarding the visibility you can stick additional rear view mirrors on the existing ones to reduce/eliminate the blindspots. You can find these at autozone, napa auto parts etc.

The car weighs about 3,300 pounds.

Cool Re: Quick questions from a new owner.

Welcome & Congrats!!!

First check the slide switch and make sure the dome light is switched on. The dome light pops out if the bulbs need to be replaced, just purchase w5w wedge type bulb(s). If it is not the bulb(s) and the car is under warranty then take it back to the dealer, there have been reported shorts in the dome lights.

I know this is an old thread, but i thought I will let you know what I found with the dome lights. My dome light was out also. Since I do not have a warranty I unscrewed the 2 screws holding the light unit. I found that the medal traces are held down by some cheeeap plastic rivet things. I went to kragen and bought some metal, plastic epoxy. I epoxied the 2 traces that were broken and glued the other rivets. I am sure they would have broken eventually. I popped the whole unit back in. Perfect. Five min. Job.

Welcome to the forum...I just bought my XF in August.

I am going to replace my stereo as well. When I begin my search, I am hoping to get a DVD receiver with an LCD screen. Most of these units allow for auxiliary video inputs that can be used for back up cameras. These units are expensive but may be worth it.

I know it sounds wimpy and I never thought that I would ever need a backup camera in any of my cars. We all know of the rear visibility issues with the Crossfire. I never want to ding a rim or a fender. I need to park my XF in tight quarters and the camera would be a big help.

Another downside besides the cost is that they usually have a retractable LCD screen that will block the A/C controls when deployed.

Good Luck with your XF.
