Default Oops! beauty mark...

Well, I have had my Xfire less than a week and I screwed it up already. While at the drive thru at the bank I turned too sharp and caught the edge of a divider curb with the right rear wheel/tire. Nasty scuff on the side of the tire and a nice little gouge on the edge of the wheel. Still trying to get used to the high windows I guess. Oh, don't try talking on Nextel while driving a six speed either. Rookie mistake right!

Anybody got any suggestions on how to care for this wheel gouge so that it doesn't start to get worse or corrode? Not quite ready to upgrade with new wheels yet, so that option is off the table.

Other than my poor driving, so far I absolutely love this car...

Search the archives, there is an extensive instructional thread to talk you thru just such wheel repairs including pic's etc. If you haven't found it by the time I get home I'll post it later. I have it saved in my home computer for future reference. Just found it. Type "wheel repair" in your search field, choose "curb rash" thread, and scroll down to Sidez's entry. Click on his website reference.

Also, if you search, you will find that there is a touch-up paint for the wheels as well. It may not be perfect, but I found it to make a noticeable improvement on the 2 or 3 nicks I have.

It is tough trying to multitask in the 6 speed crossfire. Only enough room in there to throw the shifter around and stomp on the gas. And I hate it when passengers want to put their left elbow on the console, hey retard i HAVE TO SHIFT, DUH.
Also when other drivers pull along side of you and hang right in the friggin" blind spot, do they ever use their brains? Why would you drive beside a vehicle in their blind spot. So stupid!

I sure do miss my old civilianized Caprice cop car, talk about roomy and powerful.

Thanks for that! My Xfire had a few light wheel scuffs when I bought it. Gonna try this.
