Antecedents: The BAS ESP light was on some days ago but I stopped the car turned the engine off and started again, the light did not come on. The next day the light was on again to run some miles I repeated the procedure, also the light go off, same day, but in the next trip I was driving my car slowly because the traffic then all the lights was on and the engine stopped. I started it immediately and the BAS ESP light was on.

I took my xf to the dealer and the did not found anything, the scan said all was ok, so i got back my xf normally, the next day in the first trip the light was on and I took my car to the dealer with the light on, then they made the diagnostics and that seems to be a sensor in the wheel, but they took another day to certify the diagnostics, but finally they to told me about the module; 05140827AA.

I have to say that the dealer forgot to reset the maintenance program after the last service. So my doubt is; Can the module failure cause the car stop?

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Ricardo
the problem is your abs module you have 3 options to fix
1. replace at dealership around $1,900
2. order an new abs module on a mopar web site around $800
3. replace with a used abs module $ 250

I replaced with a used one and it works fine you can buy at a local junk yard or on ebay
you can do it yourself its plug and play no reprogramming involved

The first suggestion I had from a Chrysler service person was a low battery. That was replaced and same issue.

I had the Xfire hauled to the dealership some 20 miles away on May 5. Diagnosis is the ABS controller. It has been on backorder with about 2 week updates being offered. Yesterday the expected due date was moved to October. I secured the part number from the parts department and may have located a couple of places that have the part. Dealership said the cost of the part would be $1000 but the part listed on the other sites were both $199.

It's been almost 2 months and no Xfire! Dealership called today to see if I was interested in trading it in and they offered to make the trade in value as in "running condition." I haven't pursued that at this time.

Get that car out of the dealership---and save money.
People on here run circles around the dealership. Actually, they should just log on here and get these cars fixed QUICK---Good luck. Jimmy

I doubt the car is still in the dealership, this thread is 3+ years old.
Maybe the dealership has gone as well.
That was Redalerts last post so maybe he traded the car.
