Default Crossfire Control

So I know the xfire has traction control and stability control... but i'm not sure which one does what exactly.

One shuts down the throttle when you lose traction, and the other brakes certain wheels or something?

Do all of you guys disable these controls? I noticed one time when I took a sharp turn and gassed it, I almost wrecked because I expected certain physics to come into effect.

TC is what happened when your wheels spin, It can put power until you regain traction. Stops you from spinning your wheel. ESP stability control keeps your car straight while driving. for example in the snow, if you start to fish-tail it might brake, cut off gas. I leave my TC on because it rarely jumps in. You can turn the TC off, but not the ESP. If you want to do a burn-out turn TC off. leave it on or off for drag racing, depending on how you launch, because if you spin and it kick in you will kill your time because it slows down the gas.

I meant in the snow or rain if you start to lose control. And most crossfire pull if the road it sloped to the side much, or there are grooves.

The owners manual says that you can turn the ESP (Electronic Stability Program) off/on, not the traction control.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

The traction contol on the Crossfire is ten times better than it was on my last Mustang. That kicked in all the time (at the wrong times). I almost never see it come on now.

Talking Re: Crossfire Control

I did a dumb one on the way to the job the other morning... I was driving on our access road and looking at something that was going on at the project that I did not care to be seeing (and not paying enough attention to my driving) and my right side tires went off the road and into the gravel. I corrected and the ESP did the rest. Let me tell you, the stuff works great! If not for that, I would have done a 180 pretty darn quick. I only driving about 30 mph and was the only one on the access road at that time of the morning like usual (5:15 am) so it was no big deal, but it sure got my attention. So my advice from learning the hard way, leave the stuff on. But if you like to do burn outs, you can turn off the traction control.
