Re: Message under the spoiler ?
Excellent, Thank you very much !
I just sent a message to Karmann's USA headquarters.
I'm proud of Karmann's reputation as a respected european specialty coachbuilder.
Our Crossfires were jointly developed by DCX-Karmann, Manufactured by Karmann with Mercedes components and badged as a Chrysler product. Karmann really deserves more credit.
Their website is very interesting !
Cheers,
Cincinnati Slim

OT:
I have 2 Karmann products when I really think about it. The Crossfire and my Porsche 914 were built in the German plant (only the 914/6 were sent back to Porsche).
I should send a quick email and get some free stuff.

I will post a pic of the decal later today, but below is a pic of the body emblem on Stryfox's Xfire, I placed mine in the same location.

last time I checked the XF can top 155 and do 60 in 6.5 seconds... stack that against the obvious others:
Audi TT - 6.9 seconds
Honda S2000 - 6.2 seconds
Nissan 350z - 5.7 seconds
Mazda Rx8 - 7.2 seconds
... and the XF seems in good company - not the slowest, nor the fastest - just the most stylish !
Re: Message under the spoiler ?
The Crossfire is like most sports cars, drag racing is not their strongest feature...
If you want brutal off-the-line acceleration then a Mustang GT is probably your best bang for the buck in a new car for less than 30K. I almost bought one but the Crossfire offered a much more refined, nimble and better handling package for less money. (especially given the current deep discounts !)
It's apples to oranges really. I've owned several muscle and pony cars over the years. Some offered brutal acceleration but not much else. I had a '68 GTX with a healthy 440 (headers, big cam, 4.11 gears); I'd run low 13s on skinny street tires in the quarter but couldn't stop or turn worth a damn or run faster than 100 mph plus for more than dozen miles before getting too hot. A good driver in a pure stock Crossfire can easily make most muscle and pony cars vanish in the rear view mirror on a road course or a twisty country road.
Like I said, apples to oranges. Different cars have different strengths.
My old Jeep rides like a coal truck but when the weather gets ugly it suddenly becomes very beautiful !

Re: Message under the spoiler ?
Well, being 22 and going to college, i always got the comment, "i wish my mom and dad would buy me a car like that!" Well actually kids, i have worked since the week i turned 14, all through high school when you were on the football field, basketball court, pep rallies, and track meets. I was at work!... so i put the line, "Ya, I Paid For It" under my rear wing. I loved it, even though I do not own the car anymore, I have come to this website to see the wonderful comments and what the great people have to say!
