I need to get home in it. That includes 4 winter tires and a weeks food for a little fat guy.
I too was worried about space but you can get anything too large to take home delivered. I think owning the crossfire will make up for the lack of storage ect.
Ask yourself how many time in a year you will need to haul large items.
If you can count them on one hand, get the xfire and rent a truck, call a friend, or have it delivered those times.

For me, I could not have the SRT6 as my only car.
It's sort of an odd comparison your making between the S40 and the Xfire.
An AWD sedan to a RWD 2 seater. How about a Subaru WRX STi? You'll have plenty of power and a back seat w/a decent trunk.
Just my opinion, but I've never been a fan of the 'little' Volvos. You could just buy the Mazda 3 for less (since they are based on the same platform). Hey, how about that Mazdaspeed 3? A little 260+ hp wagon.
Let us know what you decide.

Well, I'm bias to both. I've been a long time Volvo owner, and the S40 is sweet. But the Crossfire is in a different class all together. I too could not see myself having a two seater as my only car. If you want the Humph of a sexy sports car, go for the XF.

Not sure you are considering apples and apples here...
If you wee looking at a RX8, S2000 or a 350Z then I think you are on the same page... but a ovlov ???
I had the S60 T5 and it was a fantastic Q car... quick, comfy and sensible. A great business tool or family car.
The XF is quick... quick and well... quick...
Buy the Volvo for shopping and the XF for fun.
Would love to see the volvo dealers face when you tell them it is this of a crossfire...they have a great patter ready for MB, Saab and the like... bet they haven't got a XF one !
