Default Funny but True

After my CrossFire spent many hours of therapy recovering from the FP "Boobies and Wings" Experience, we thought that a nice little drive would be appropriate!

I was so enthralled, that my Little baby was again ready to cruise the streets, I took the car cover off and stowed it in the "Trunk/Hatchback" and took off.

Windows down... Me and my little Lady, getting ready for cruise... I thought Life is wonderful!

Everything was fine till I hit I-90 and 65 MPH+... When all of a sudden the damn car cover (remember previously stowed behind) blew up like a freaking Air Bag and surrounded me!

All I can see is this narrow 12" view growing smaller, with this convulsing piece of tarp slapping and whipping, and enclosing me every second!

Let's just say; Me and my Little Baby looked pretty silly with this bloating and throbbing bag growing from the inside of the CrossFire. I could only imagine the thoughts of other drivers as I pulled over to the side of I-90, as others raced by laughing like hell, at the site they were witnessing!

You know... You just can't make this kind of stuff up?!?

OMG - that is hilarious. Glad you are OK, that could have been ugly.

You just can't. And truth is always stranger than fiction, too. Just glad that you're okay. Better to have someone laugh at you than point at the horrible accident on the side of the road.

You know... I would not have thought of posting this if it weren't for my daughter's persistent that all of the XFi members would benefit from this event; she is a legal assistant that was probably thinking of public safety?!?
Damn kids... Anyway... I Hope everyone enjoys my little experience from hell and back!

I'm still trying to calculate the odds of this phenomenon occurring again?

Yes... and thanks a lot, Now that it is public knowledge, we will all have to put big stickers across the back of the hatch warning of the dangers of storing your car cover there.

Maybe our insurance companies will give those of us that have cargo covers a discount for having another "safety device" installed.

Hahaha, I'm here almost peeing my pants thinking of the visual. Glad you're OK. The lesson learned is that if you had your boobies with wings on you hood, this would have not happened.

Well, now I know how to stop quicker from high speeds in my XFire; leave my car cover out of it's bag in the back and as I apply the brakes as hard as I can, OPEN THE WINDOWS for the car cover/parachute to open and slow me down. Thanks!!

Unhappy Re: Funny but True

Can't help but think this is going to turn into an "confessions of an idiot" thread...

So to get my low IQ in first...

Picture the scene - Red Ferrari, hood down... cruising like you mean it... god I must have looked great...
Pulled up at a set of traffic lights next to a range rover at the very moment the child in the passenger seat threw the contents of there coke cup out the window - clearly did not see my low and lean car pulling up...

Well... needless to say... I was impressed !

Now I look back and laugh every time I slash the tyres on a 4x4 !

That happens a lot with plastic bags but I never imagined a car cover! Sounds like something out of a Griswald experience... lol.

I knew divulging this information was a bad idea... That is the lesson learned today my friends!

By the way... every time I think about this, I do start to chuckle.

Isn't life grand!
