Default Something I noticed

Since I've seen a few noise posts here lately I just remembered an issue with my car. I actually noticed it the day I got it but am not sure what causes it. I turn on the ignition, radio off, windows shut, AC and all fans are off. I hear an ever so quiet noise that resembles a gas leak sound but also sounds like a set of speakers when you turn them on with no music, you know that ffffff noise. Its all around and I can't pinpoint it to any one places, so perhaps it is the speakers even though the radio is off?

Mine does the same thing. Weird huh?

It's definitely electronic in nature.

Cool Re: Something I noticed

If you have the stock radio and there is a CD left in when the car is shut off it will make a slight sound. Sounds sort of like escaping air or a hiss (at least in my XFire).

Are you sure it isn't the fuel pump? That's the only thing I hear in my non SRT.

Sounds to me like it is the stereo's amplifier. There is an ever so slight hiss that comes from the speakers when everything is off with the key in position 1 (accessory). If you turn off / remove the key the hiss should go away after about two seconds.

My car does the same thing.

I'm pretty sure it is the fuel pump "charging".

Mine does it - I think its my cell phone transmitting and causing static - even with the radio off. It happens in my truck to.

Now you know why Pilots ask you to turn your cell phones off during flight.

Naw mine does it with the ignition turned to accessory but radio off. Its just the sound powered speakers make. My guitar amp does the same.
