navigation nightmare
Okay, unfortunately nobody thought of building our lovely cars with a spot for real navigation... I'm talking big touch screen in the center console like most cars, or even a spot on the dash to sit our cell phones! (I'm sure you all use the ash tray like i do), anyways, I really don't like any of those navigations that hook on, because i don't like the way it looks. I've seen these:
With nav but I couldn't imagine that tiny screen would provide anything great. Would anyone have pictures of the nav working on that thing? It's practically impossible to have a real navigation tv screen in the center console without having to take out buttons and controls, and our crossfires needs those! So unless someone can show me any alternative navigations that have worked well for them, I guess I'll have to live without nav. =(

Get a Garmin Nuvi 350. They are small, you can carry it in your pocket, has touch screen, and you can mount it right next to your rear view mirror. Amazon has them for $350 or so.
The NAV system works with a combination of voice and small arrow/intersection graphics. It is quite easy to follow and is VERY well designed. I rarely have to take my eyes off the road to see the 'purdy pitchurs' with this system.
Watching a 3D virtual road is okay, but to me it is distracting. I want to concentrate on where I'm driving and what's around me, not the animated pictures.
I'll see if I can take some shots later and post them.

I'm pretty satisfied with the stock NAV system.
Yes, it would be nice to have a touchscreen, but it works fine.
Would be nice if we could find some updated discs for it though.

Same here, I find that the Crossfire Navigation actually gives better voice directions than the system in my Grand Cherokee. Even with the big road map screen on my Grand Cherokee, I rarely look at it while I'm driving, I just rely on the voice prompts. Plus, like the others have said, it responds quicker than the Cherokee's system.

Purchased a Garmin Nuvi 650 - Love it!
I find that it also gives better road instructions than the orig. NAV unit in some situations.
It also has the restaurants, point of interest, etc.

No matter what I'm driving or where we are at!
