Well, a rock must've bounced up off the highway or something cause I got home today and my drivers side fog lamp lense is shattered... no other damage... just the lense.

Guess I'm gonna have to find one and replace it. Shouldn't be too hard... there is a little compartment door inside the wheel well that should give me the access I need to remove and replace it.

Anyone have an extra lying around?

I got my shattered lens replaced under warranty....here's the catch...my passenger fog light had the cap falling off issue, and they replaced it with the new design fog light without the cap. And they have to replace them in pairs if they upgrade to the new design.

Needless to say, they don't like me much at ol' Carl Burger Dodge, at least not anymore.

 

I recently installed window smoke film over my headlamps and fog lights. It's fairly thick and has a gummy feel to it if you put your finger on the film. It's great for stopping the rocks from sandblasting your lenses and it absorbs the shock of impact. I bought it a Lowes for $11, the hardest part is you need to cut templates first then just slice out your pieces.

 

Same thing happened to me last week. Went to the local Chrysler Dealer and they wanted $125 per Fog lamp Assembly. I found a thread here that lead me to Chrysler Direct, I then ordered the assembly from:

The design sucks. The glass gets quite hot. Over time all that heating and cooling will weaken the glass so any pebble will crack it. WTF were they thinking using glass, anyway? Nothing is indestructible, but fog lamp lenses should be made of tougher stuff.
