Default Well, here is the new car...

Not my daily driver, its going to end up being a track only car as i plan on taking racing pretty seriously starting next year. Its a 1989 240sx with a japanese nissan silvia "redtop" sr20det engine (turbocharged). It makes close to 200 whp and weighs about 2,500 lbs. Interior looks brand new and the car drives like it is brand new. The guy who did the engine swap did a great job. Enjoy and comments welcome. My crossfire made a little cameo too.

Sweet ride and in great condition for an '89. What kind of racing are you planning to do? I see quite a few 240 sx converted as drift car, which is pretty cool. Well good luck with it.

I was told there is actually a classification for the 240 with the silvia engine in NASA by some other owners, so probably in there. I owe alot to HDDP for convincing me to get my but out on the track and now Im hooked. I haven't gone out because I have been saving up dough for this car, but I really intend to get pretty serious about the NASA thing. But for the next year at least, I am going to continue in HPDE, which isn't racing, but still your on a race track and is still frustrating when you are killing people in the twisty stuff and then you get passed like you are standing still on the straightaway because then you aren't able to hone your skills because the guys ahead of you are holding you up. So that won't happen anymore with this car. Its going to be making 270 whp by October.

that being said, I have seriously considered going into drifting. I love car control above and beyond anything else, so its a big option, plus they have drifting about 8 miles from my house (irwindale).

Thumbs up Re: Well, here is the new car...

I dig.
The 240s are solid cars.
My buddy had one and we got t-boned by a Ford Aerostar that ran a stop sign. Neither of us had injuries and it wasn't even close to being salvaged.

Good luck with it.

Good choice. I know it really doesn't matter, but the green is a great color for the 240SX with those rims. If you can get rid of the flip headlights, it will look brand new, too...

i will get rid of them eventually and convert to the silvia front end, but it has bmw hid's on it. Honestly, the kid i bought it from lost his *** on this car, he was a cool guy though. The thing is probably worth 8k.

as a side not, the green is sadly what sold me, never seen one this color before and I have ALWAYS been a huge fan or british racing green type colors.

Yep, I'm a sucker for that BRG too. How about this front end (from 1966)?
