I had a 06' Limited Coupe prior to buying a SRT-6.
My Limited was a great car. Lots of power, great acceleration on the freeway. Basically - a great touring coupe which is what the car was made for. It could easily keep up with most cars on the road. (but not all).
But it was not a race machine, traffic light to traffic light competition was OK but not fantastic. The Autostick transmission seemed to not know what to do if you really jumped on it from a dead or rolling stop.
Having only owned trucks my entire life prior to buying the Limited I was easily impressed, but when the "inventory reduction" SRT's went on the market, I could not help but want more; and more is what I got. The transmission on my SRT has its act together and knows how to handle any action.
If you want a bullet - upgrade to an SRT-6.
I never see any on the road (or other XF's) and can take on all requests and boy they seem to come out of the woodwork when I am driving this car.
No regrets on buying or driving either car. I think all Crossfires are great cars and are now priced right and an exceptional value. Everything else is just a clone of something else. Or so it seems to me.

renntech performance package 6: high boost supercharge kit with intercooler: $23k for a total of $48k + exhaust + intake, etc.
i'm just saying if i had that much money to throw away, i'd buy a used viper (if i still liked chrysler/dodge products at all, plus the new vipers are ugly) or at least buy an srt-6: that way you have everything for < $30k
