Default Very Important Bumper Question

I had a minor accident the other day (see earlier post). I have a Limited, and the body shop found out that the SRT6 bumper is actually cheaper than the Limited bumper. HOWEVER, the parts supplier (a Chrysler dealer) told the body shop that if you put on the SRT6 bumper, the main grille is a different shape, and it requires that you replace the plastic main grille with an SRT6 grille, which is MORE expensive than the bumper itself (??? WTF) ???

Is this the case? It seems to me that the bumpers should be interchangeable with no modification to the grille. Any input is very appreciated, they are ordering parts soon. Thanks!!!

False. All Crossfire grilles (upper and lower) are the same. Several members of this forum have changed out their regular bumpers for SRT6 bumpers without incident.

I read this post, and it seems to me the SRT6 bumper should bolt right up with no modifications. I guess I am looking for confirmation, and why did the parts guy (at the dealer) think that it needs a new grille??

My body shop guy is a good guy, I think he'll figure it out.

PS. Does the SRT6 bumper come with the lower grilles, and are they the same grilles as the limited?
