lotus or xfire...

I looked at a 350Z, and by mechanic tried to get me take over the lease on his Elise... but for the $$$, there was nothing on the market even close to a Xfire. I also loved the Xfire's driving position and the low end torque. I do most of my driving in the city, after all.
Also, why get an Elise when there are Caymans out there?

The Crossfire is a great deal if you want the look of a sports car, but it's lacking when it comes to actually performing like a sports car.

You should know better than to try and make that comparison. You know damn well a Elise will eat a Crossfire alive around a track. I could dig up a picture of a Fox body Mustang passing a Ferrari 360 but it says absolutely nothing about the cars in general.

Now, I eat them for lunch... Exiges too !!!
Lets be serious here. I hate magazine racing, but come on - with equal drivers this is not going to be close.
2004 Crossfire
3,060 lbs
215 hp/229 tq
= 14.2
2005 Lotus Elise
1,975 lbs
190 hp/138 tq
= 10.4
---------------------------
2006 Crossfire SRT6
3,240 lbs
330 hp/310 tq
= 9.8
2007 Lotus Exige
2,077 lbs
220 hp/165 tq
= 9.4
So there we have it. Better hp to weight ratios while having a far superior suspension for track duty. Equal drivers in both cars, this isn't a race.

I sat in the Lotus today. It was tight all around - I'm 6'2". Very hard to get in and out of; bare bones interior; very tight in the pedal area (foot on the gas pedal and shoe was touching the brake pedal); seats about 1 inch thick (no comfort there); you are literally elbow to elbow with your passenger (no console at all); very cheap/cheesy cover around shifter; only storage is in the rear near the engine (about the size of a large glove box); but a NICE looking car. More of the finest go cart in the world but not for me at $45K.
