Rotex pads stop squeaking?
I'm having horrible constant squeaking from at least one of my brake pads rubbing on the rotor. I just washed it today and sprayed all 4 rotors down with brake cleaner. Will getting rotex pads stop the squeaking since its caused by dust?
The squeaking will only stop if you recut the rotors at the time you install the Rotex pads. Just installing Rotex pads won't stop the squeaking. It will however eliminate the dust. Dust isn't what's causing the squeaks to my knowledge.
I have Rotex pads and just replaced my OEM rotors with drilled and slotted rotors, they said they were cut but i'm still getting squeaking.
I'm thinking they never cut them.

you need to use... brake grease & anti squeal grease/compound when installing these dust-free pads. this is what eliminates any squealing issues (unless the rotors are abnormally worn).

You might have everyone applying grease to their rotors and that could prove to be a problem!
Actually everyone can easily get these little "Brake Grease Packets" at almost any parts supplier for about .99 or below, so you don't have to spend a allot of money to stop the brakes from squealing.

the pad backing contact points... round piston edge... backing plate edges... caliper bracket (contact points) ...

hope this helps!

They only have to be cut if they are glazed or warped. That is the only time they have to be cut. Removing metal from the rotors only makes them get hotter faster. Brake shops just do it to make more money...
When I installed the Rotex pads on my XF, I had the all 4 rotors cut (and for a few extra $$ slotted, dimpled and zinc coated too).
Never a squeal, whine or peep.

I put mine on about a month and a half ago. Was dumb of me to not lube the necessary parts the first time around. Once those rotors heated up at higher speed driving, the squeaking was shrill. Like previously stated I went to Advanced Auto Parts and bought the .99 cent packets as well as another brake lubricant that is to be directly sprayed onto back of pads. After another afternoon spent lubing the brakes the squeaking was almost all gone. After residual wear in squeaking I haven't had much problem. The only time I get any squeaking is (1) when i pressure spray my rims, which I don't often do. A regular hose or spray nozzle shouldn't be a problem. or (2) every once in a while I will get a very brief squeak at very low speeds say 5 mph to 0. And like I said that is infrequent. Make sure you lube the appropriate areas and you should be fine. I did not have my rotors resurfaced. Best of luck!
