Default To Chrome or Not To Chrome...That is the question

Well Boys (and girls), make the decision....To Chrome or Not To Chrome...

Caveat: the gap between the handle and the chrome piece will not be present in the end because I haven't actually glued it in place yet and it is just resting and kind hanging on the door handle right now:

OR

Also in real life the chrome is much shinier, it's real metal, not plasticy stick on chrome. It's very good quality stuff from what I can tell, the camera with the flash just flashes out the whole pic so I had to go with bad lighting instead.

Are you adding the chrome door handle shells or are you going (or have found a cover) to chrome the actual handles?

I am adding the Chrome Door Shells. I can chrome the door handles though, but I thought that just might be too much. Today's questions is only regarding the door shells.

Pretty sure however you shouldn't do the door handles if you don't do the rims. I have seen some stock rims with chrome paint? I guess it was on them, they look sharp when combined with the door handles. Someone even chromed the rear view mirrors with all this and it looked sharp too. I dont want to get carried away however...

Leave it alone unless you plan on chroming everything. Keep it consistent or its going to look trashy.

You dip the whole car and then just chip off, with a fingernail of course, all the plating you don't want!

If you chrome, chrome it all, windshield surround, door handles, rims, etc.

I plan on painting my windshield surround and door handles to match the body paint.

I will leave the stock SRT rims alone, then make a billet radiator grill and side vents that will match the rims.

I would either chrome all the silver painted surfaces or leave it alone. I chromed all my silver painted exterior parts plus the roll bars. I had to paint the door handles the exterior color due to the fact know one has came up with a chroming solution (plastic). I have a graphite gray and think it looks sharp. I went to the Woodward cruise so if you would like other opinions maybe they could give some input on what they think.

chrome is old and busted. put a vinyl top on it while you're at it.

So I think the general consensus here is to Chrome everything or nothing at all.

I was planning on getting some chrome rims, and the Burtman Industries Grill / Side Grill. Also chroming the wind screen. I liked the black Crossfire with the chrome door inserts. I think I'm going to go for it here. Worst case scenario is I hate them and take them off. It's just a simple adhesive...

I've seen Frank's car. It is sharp. The chrome looks great on the Gray and everything is chromed (which is the way to go if you start doing some chrome).
I'm more of a satin finish fellow myself, but to each their own.

A lot of chrome is usually too much "bling" for my taste. But if it's not over done, it does look good on a black car.
I was amazed at how good Frank's car looked. It was a real "stand out" at Woodward.

I know I'm going against popular opinion here but I have a vision in my head of what the vehicle will look like and I decided to go with it. It's a work in progress at this point, but as the paychecks come in, the vehicle will grow into what I want it too look like. I guess worst case scenario is that it looks ridiculous and then I just revert. It's not like it's completely undo-able. Thanks for all your opinions though. For the record...my wife agreed with the majority of you guys.

...but then again, she also didn't want me to buy a Crossfire...It's not a "family car". Good thing I bought her a "family car" a few months ago for Mother's Day! ;-)
