Kumho tires at Tire rack
Just got a look at a new catalog from Tire Rack and they have Kumho tires listed to fit the 18 and 19 inch rims. They are about half the cost of regular replacement tires we have. Just wondering if anyone has any experience with them? The few I have spoken with seem to like them and they look almost like the Michelin Sports we have on our XF. They are Kumho Ecsta SPT ultra high performance Y speed rating.

I had these on my BMW 530i, ran them for 40K. They had a nice feel, really hugged the road well, better I think than the Goodyear's that came with the car. I would say that they are a dry weather tire, as I live in Hollywood, CA they worked out great for me. I would get the them for my X-F, they're not he best looking tire but I'm more about function than looks.
I printed out the TireRack prices and got a local tire store to match the price, mounted and balanced.
Peace,
Charlie V

I've run them on my wife's old Volvo and my son's RSX and they were good tires. I can't tell you how many miles we got because my son is constantly changing tires and wheels and my wife's car was totaled in August. I do know handling was fine and we had them on the Volvo for at least 30,000 miles.

If they still have the Kumho Ecsta Supra 712s, those the money shot. I've hade them on two Turbo RX-7s and LOVED them. Didn't get that many miles out of the rears (drifting), but the fronts wore great.
herfire... thanks for your post. It got me thinking about my next set of tires for my '04 SSB coupe.
