Default Advice for a potential buyer

I am looking at several Crossfires, My particular interest is a low mileage coupe with auto. I want to buy from a dealer and the car must still have a factory warranty remaining. Some are CPO's some are not. One car is a 2005 SRT with only 1700 miles. Any words of wisdom?

Go for it, you'll never regret buying a crossfire.

Just make sure to get a carfax and make sure the warranty and any recall work has been done!

I guarantee you will not be disappointed with a Crossfire!

My advice is don't rush into a purchase. Shop around and get a feel for the market.
There are some great deals to be had.

I agree.....but if you are looking for HP, then stick with the SRT6. Either way you will not regret your purchase.

Ditto! Take your time, do your research, check out "the car", get the Best deal & waste No time after that, you can't go wrong.

1. Drive the Limited and SRT and see if the SRT stiffer ride is something you can live with.
2. If the car has a NAV radio, make sure the CDs are included. Over $200 to replace.
3. Ask about the luggage that came with the car. That will cost you $300+/- to get from a private party. (600+ from the manufacturer) SRT versions are even more expensive.
4. Make sure the tires have lots of life left in them. Or have the seller buy new ones. Major expense there.
5. Check maintence records and the FSS to make sure the oil changes were done. If it's near the next one, have the seller change the oil & filter. ($130+/-)

I'm sure I'll think of more...

If you go for the SRT, I would check to make sure it wasn't a track experience car. There is a post I can't find right now that tells you how to detect if it ever had the track experience sticker on the windshield.
If you don't mind telling us, what are they asking for it?

Important!!!

Pull out the weather stripping from under the doors and check for rust!!! If it has a little it can easily be taken care of....If it has alot, look for another crossfire!!!!!

Talking Re: Advice for a potential buyer

Look for SRT's as far as 1500 miles from your home. The competition then becomes fierce between dealers (only buy from dealers with a car fax). There is a lot of variance between dealers and you can really get them bidding against reach other. Find your best deal, buy it, get a cheap ROUNDTRIP flight and go. When you get to your car look it over real well. If you don't like it come home and do it over again.

I did this and came home with a beautiful black SRT with 6400 miles for $19,000. That is a price hard to beat. I spent about $100 on gas and my ticket was $262 and my Car Fax was $29.99 for unlimited queries (I did 19 before I found the right car. Three had been in accidents.)

Remember in the north that the season is over and the dealer is looking at paying on his floorplan all winter. That costs serious money especially since cars as a whole are not selling. Also try to get an idea how long the car has been sitting on the lot. You usually can get a good idea on this buying the Car Fax. Also look carefully at the pictures the dealer posts on the Net. They often show date stamps.

Will this system work for everyone? I don't know, but it certainly worked for me!
