Yes, why yes it is.
Rocket science, you know.
It is interesting but I didn't see the Crossfire on that list. I'm surprised the Chrysler Aspen was on there. For a new vehicle like that to be discounted so heavily must mean it is a huge flop.
The Chrysler Aspen is a SHOWROOM ANCHOR! Nice enough truck, just hasn't caught on in our neck of the woods. We have 2 2007 Limiteds left, $37,260 list price, Sale priced at $30,988. The good one though, (3) 5-Speed, Blue, 2007 Pacific Coast Highway Edition PT Cruiser. MSRP $20,999, we're dropping them to $12,999!!! Its that time of year, and '08's are already here.

I'm not sure of what Chrysler has sitting around, I'm just going off of our inventory. Only sold a few Aspens this year, dealer traded out of 2-3. Rebates are up on all of the 2007's, they have been replaced with "Dealer Cash". This helps as it comes off of the sale price, not off of the back end. This saves you a little tax money. The Aspen has $4000, the PT $3,000. but we have 3 of the same car with the PT. We have dipped into our "Cut Money" and are just eating a couple thousand to move them off the lot.
I don't understand why the Aspen in particular isn't selling well. It looks better than its competition. It seems like a very nice SUV. Chrysler just can't catch a break.

I agree that the Aspen looks great until you see the MSRP and MPG
The Aspen reminds me of the first time I saw info on the Pacifica. I thought wow, what a great idea, I would pay about $25k for one of those only to find out that the price of a decently equipped one was well into the mid $30s.

I agree. Unless you're of the means that money is no object those who can afford anything will not stick with domestics, they'll head over to the Benz SUV.
AND, Chrysler just did a very poor job in marketing their cars especially our first loves, the Xfire. They market the heck out of their trucks & SUVs 'cause that's where the money is and (now here comes the flame) the majority of Chrysler products all look the same at least from the front; just look for the grill! The first time I saw a Crossfire I had to have one. Nothing else on the road looked like it plus no other domestic had anything that cool looking. The Solstice looks good; so does the RX8 but both are pretty underpowered, no comparison and there are so many 'Stangs on the road I think they reproduce all by themselves on dealer's lots when no one's looking.

All Chryslers look alike? ............. Have you looked at the front of every BMW...........every BENZ....................every AUDI............,SAAB,HONDA,ACURA,CADILLAC,LINCOLN ,.......on and on.
It is reasonable and the current marketing trend for cars to look similar to other members of the family.
European makers started this trend twenty years ago , so I wouldn't be surprised that Daimler made that decision for Chrysler.
After all, when the Crossfire was announced , it was written that it would be the ......ICON....... of the new Chrysler division of DC.
There are only so many things one can do to the looks of a car and actually it's almost all been done before.
If the XF looks like a Sebring to you , then take a look at your stove and you dishwasher; similar but definitely not the same.
Just my view, you have expressed yours,
RP

All good points & valid! You can't tell one BMW from another & in a sideways point of view you help define my point. The Xfire looks like nothin' else! And, frankly, with its new 'grooved' hood the Sebring does kinda borrow the Xfire's looks.........kinda. The Mopar grills drive me crazy, though, especially on the Rams: if they get any bigger (& therefore more 'manly') you might just as well glue a Royce grill on them & be done with it!
As to the Benz's being created down the road, unless you would have pointed it out the average well-heeled buyer would never guess!
