Default Red fluid on garage floor

I am seeing some clear red fluid on my garage floor. Never a good thing.

I have checked all fluids and don't find anything reading low. It does not seem to happen everyday, I've only noticed it a couple of times. The first time it seemed to be toward the passenger's side of the engine compartment. Yesterday, it was more centered. I am puzzled as to where this is coming from. Any thoughts?

Thanks.

Most likely coolant. Same happened to me two years ago. The dealer replaced my radiator.

Clear red fluid.
Is it clear or red?
Is it watery or oily?
Watery maybe coolant (open your radiator and see what color you have).
Oily maybe tranny fluid.

More likely to be transmission fluid.

May be the "O" ring tranny issue.

Good call Crossfire LTD. A common problem and easy fix. Take it to your Dealer!

Yeah, just replaced mine, it's a $20 part from the dealer and not too bad of a job. The o-rings are faulty, they were all swelled. I noticed mine when I was changing oil. The trans has to be drained and metered for the right amount to be put back in. No dipstick. Kit not available to us, at least not what I can find.

...txcross mentions that is his tranny fluid was leaking off and on at random times until suddenly it all came pouring out!

You should be able to tell by the smell if its coolant or transmission fluid.

I had the same happen a couple of months ago. It was the "O" ring in the tranny. Dealer fixed it right away, no problems since.

Thanks for the help. None on the floor the past two days. If I see a spot again- I'll try and compare it to the old tranny fluid and coolant I have sitting on the garage shelf and see if I can tell which it is. I figured it was one of these two but could not understand why the leak is not "consistent" and wondered if there was some unknown overflow discharge function in the car...

Another victim of the o-ring issue here...!!
I have the SRT at 14k+ miles, and saw good size puddle of trans fluid all over the garage floor

She's going in next week, many thanks to all for the info... very helpful and definitely good to know it's known problem.
