Default Fog light question

So I got my car back from the dealer after the little accident I was involved in and it's really nice to have fresh paint and a clean look now. My question is about the fog lights, the new one they put in does not have that bulb cap on it whereas my other one (which is older) does and has fallen off.

I want to get a new driver side fog light but do all the fog lights come the same way now or do I need to specify a certain year? I just don't want to get a new one from partsdirect and have it have a cap.

Also, I need to know what's right and what's left. Partsdirect doesn't specify Driver or Passenger, only Left and Right. I assume Right would be driver but it depends on how you're looking at it (from outside or inside).

The drivers side is the left side and passenger side is the right side when ordering parts. have the place that fixed it look up the part number on the one replaced the other one should have the same number but with a L or LH on it. The oem ones had problems with the caps falling off so they might be all the same now.

Did the cap fall off from the accident? If it did they should have replaced that one to.

This is a warranty claim item if you're not past your warranty period yet ... seen posts on members getting them replaced in the past for this same reason.

Well the new one doesn't have a bulb cap on it at all , you only see the bulb. If I wasn't away for the weekend I'd take a picture. I'll post one up when i get back on Sunday.

The cap fell off before the accident so it wasn't replaced and I didn't play "dumb" and say that it wasn't like that before.
