Question cabin air filter

How often do I need to change the cabin air filter in my XF coupe. Where is a good place to purchase them from?

Thanks.

Anyone have step by step instructions on replacing the cabin air filter for a '04 x-fire? Or would it just be cheaper to take to the dealer?

Just bought a cabin air filter, WIX 24777, from Fleetfilter.com for $16.73. It's good for SRT6 and all models. They also have our oil filter, WIX 57078 for $9.69 each. It's a reboxed Mann Filter and fleece as well. They have discounts for $50 and $125 orders and shipping was reasonable. I bought a cabin filter and 4 oil filters and it came to $11.08 for each oil filter, and $18.12 for the air filter, shipping included. No tax unless you're in Texas.

I'll update when it arrives and I install it!

I will be at Napa tomorrow and am going to price this filter. Does this look like the flimsy paper filter I keep reading about? Or is this the one to have?

get the cabin filter with the charcol, these are the nicest ones made...
MicronAir Dust/Pollen Cabin Filter

we can get you guys all the other cheaper ones if thats what you really want but these are the best.

install is easy, look under dash just past the glovebox, open the access panel, swap filters and your all set.

I put my new cabin air filter in today. I ended up with FIL4767 from NAPA. Here is what the description reads:

<< Carbon Impregnated Cabin Air - Remove Ordors + Particulate Contamination >>

The filter material appears to be the exact same as the MB filter I took out. The housing isn't made as stout as the MB, but I don't see a problem with it. Although the old filter wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, I did get a bunch of larger debris falling out when removing the tray.
