What is this, a place for people to brag about how special they think they are? The job doesn't make the person! I could go on and on about the importance of my position, the things I've seen and done, the amount of people who work for me, and how much money I make; however, none of that is relevant. This is an automotive enthusiast site. So, let's go talk about cars!!

I see no harm in asking or sharing info regarding occupation but it may be better placed in the "general" section of the forum.
Just my 2 cents.

agreed. but... no one is required to answer. just curiosity thing i suppose. and, this isn't a resume, just a general idea of what we all do since we all have at least one thing in common. i gotta say it is kinda interesting and if you are not comfortable stating what you do, don't do it by all means. by the amount responses, there are a lot of people intersted, including myself.

cheers!

I have to agree...as far as I know, nobody put a gun to anyone's head and told them to click on this thread and respond?

I guess I would have to say I am surprised about this comment. I read back thru all the comments and they seemed short and to the point and with limited explanation, leaving the reader to define the scope of the job. I haven't seen any bragging and only the comment about the lobbyist was a little out of place. Maybe, for those that feel the need, they should add another post expanding on their jobs.

I hope this thread continues in the spirit it orginally started. I find it interesting. Someone should capture all the professions and publish them like RPM does VIN.

It would be a shame to see this thread distintegrate into the same babble I have seen in some other threads here.

I thought that it was amusing that this was thrown out there too. Especially considering the amount of time spent insinuating how fabulous his job/life would be if only he bothered to brag about it like everyone else lol

Sorry man, I did not mean to come off as braggadocios with my post. I only posted the definition of a lobbyist to give context to the story I shared, when some girl thought lobbyist meant being a bellman at a hotel.

My statement contained many of the types of comments I've seen in this thread. I'm glad you noticed. It's one thing to say, "I'm a network analyst." That's simply stating the profession. It's another thing to say, "I'm a network analyst in charge of 15 people. We work on highly critical intelligence systems. I'm also an award winning writer who sells thousands of books a week. Oh, did I mention that I own three of my own companies?"

These are just exaggerated comments of course, but there are some that are similar.

I'm guessing that this thread is an ice breaker of sorts to kinda get to know people on the forum. And, some personality is going to come out of these posts as they should. And, of course we can have our own opinion of those folks that really like themselves... or not. Some folks state the facts, some are vague, some are trying to impress- it is all personality- this is the world we live in and it's all good.
