i am a phone man and nooo i'm not the guy at the cell phone store. i work on the new verizon network called FiOS i build the network from placing cable to splicing cables together to setting up terminals and wiring buildings, i climb telephone poles on just about the daily drive a a ford f450 dually bucket truck and love every second of my job! of course its really only fun when it gets a lil scary and gets your heart pumping, like when your 30 feet in the air and the only thing holding you up are 2 1 inch spikes of steel, then it starts raining and the pole gets slippery, then the wind picks up and it starts to shake and sway!!! i love it, hitting the ground from that height is no fun but isn't that why people bungee jump? and i will say i would like finks job if i could use explosives, but other than that i have the best job in the world. i also do side work, i took over my dads post retirement very small buisness of gunsmithing mainly specializing in colt 1911 a1's, ar15's / m16's, antique winchesters (1887's, 1897's, model 12's, 1890's, 1906's, model 62's), smith and wessons, m1 garands, m14's, m1 carbines, 03a3's, and rugers.

OILFIELD TRASH

Purchasing manager for an OEM of automation and plunger lift equipment on natural gas wells.
Best job I have ever had, I get to spend 1.5 million dollars a month of someone else's money.
And no it is not my fault your home heating bill is so expensive.

Lightbulb Re: occupations?

Man there are some interesting jobs people have and what a range.
At some point some one needs to compile a list of all the current jobs, that we have at the moment or last job if retired and maybe include the real good past jobs like lion trainers, or jet fighters. I started this thread, so perhaps I should, unless one of you have some extra spare time. (hint, hint).

Anywho just a idea.

Just by giving it a precursory glance...it seems most of us fit into 1 of 3 fields...Engineering, Computers, or law enforcement!

What I'd be more curious about, is how many people have jobs in their degreed field?
