Autostick Question?
Hello All,
I don't drive this car often but had to take it to work today and have a question about the autostick. Seems very sensitive, wants to go back into drive. If I hold it in - it will revert to 1st and stay there till I shift. Just seems like it jumps around a lot and favors drive. Sometimes shifting it will jump up to drive? I will probably never use this feature as the auto does a great job but I was just wondering how it's suppose to work and how everyone else uses it. Thanks All!

I suspect it is how you are holding the shift lever when you are using the Autostick. If you hold it to the right it switches back to Drive, it dows't take a long time for it to switch back.
It only takes a quick tap to manually shift it, not the push it into gear kind of motion you would use with a conventional manual transmission.

You need to use auto stick more often to really get the feel of it.
I use mine all the time. Proper upshift isn't even a tap, its a
twitch. Downshift more pronounced.

How cold is it where you are?
My Prelude had an autostick tranny and if it was below 50 degrees F, you were not supposed to use it manually.
Might be your issue. Not sure.

You could be on to something there. Last time I tried it out was over the summer and it seemed fine. It's around 40° give or take a few °. Oh well ... have to wait and see now. Long time till spring!
Is shifting the car manually hard on the tranny? Im using to manuals, so its hard for me to just keep the thing in drive, I now have my car in the shop for tranny work, the tranny started slipping and grinding the internals. ....???....
probably has nothing to do with your problem, but I was having problems "bumping" my stick when I started the car. I'd put it in gear and not realise I'd downshifted a gear or 2.
I've simply gotten in the habbit ot tapping the stick to the right 1 or 2X everytime I put it in D gear to insure it is in D. Create a habbit to avoid a problem...
