Hmmm...I wonder if my girlfriend would dye her hair blonde, wear a belly shirt and a letterman jacket and carry a wooden spike... I think I found a new fantasy!

I think your going to have problems with peeling paint. I tried your method (twice) on my chrome bumpers on my Lincoln MK 7, and it started peeling in about a month. I ended up having them de-chromed at a chrome shop, and then primed and painted them. This method worked great.
