Engine Stutter
I may have searched for the wrong terms but I could not find any prior post . This doesn't seem to be a tranny issue but what do I know ?
It only happens from a dead stop or very slow crawl when I get on the gas , very slow turns etc . The engine feels like it stutters for a few moments before it begins to go smoothly . I thought I may have selected the wrong fuel so I let it go down to the low fuel light and filled it with 93 octane , but it still does it . I noticed it when the temps here started dropping below 50 degrees and not sure if it does it after it warms up during the day . I've been stuck at work when it's pretty and warm
I'm 4700 miles to my next service (45k) and unless it is a sign of something else more significant , I'll just wait until it gets to the dealer for that . Any ideas ?
Sounds like either a fueling or vacuum issue to me. Time to run an OBD scanner and datalog the tip-in and fuel enrichment along with the AFRs.
It's pretty rare to get knock in 1st gear from a stop. If it was knock, you'd be stumbling every time you go up a hill in high gear.
Not sure if this helps, but hopefully it does.

I had the same problem for about 3 months. A few trips to the dealership and they finally settled on a bad O2 sensor. I didn't like their service fee so I decided to replace it myself. Fortunately, I had to take it in for a TPMS reset and when they gave it back - no more O2 sensor problem.
I think they did enough resets of the ECM that whatever was out of tolerance was recalibrated.

Thanks for the response . It does it every now and then so no big deal , I'll let them look at it when it's due for the next service and let my Ext warranty take care of it
It doesn't seem to matter what the temp is as I have noticed it occuring anywhere from 50-68 degrees when I pay attention anyway .

Crank Position Sensor is a common problem you may look into as well - easy fix and reasonably priced part (not cheap, but a lot less than a dealer would charge).
Look at some of the common symptoms associated with it and you may be able to relate your issues with it.
