(Top Notch)...I wonder if next time we could plan to go to one of the many area car shows that happen on saturday nites? and show up with another large group. and shock those vettes/and mustang clubs. Ive been to a few, and everyone loves our cars!. . . . .Ben. . .

well I guess I came out alright. The winnings covered the Hotel cost, gas and food with a little change to spare about $110. It was a nice little get away. I wish i couldve made the drive down to Kemah too. Ill be headed back to Louisiana in two more weeks for my birthday.

I had a blast at the first gtg. has anyone come up with the next one yet. or when? also Richard and Lana had a suggestion for a name (Lone Star Cross Fire) Whataya think?
Ben hit me up the next time you guys do something. Even if it's to go to the 1/8 mile track in Houston. Do they run Friday and Saturday? Anyway let me know. Get Jay, Richard and the rest of the "F-Troop" there. Yeah, "F-Troop" like the old comedy show because we did have some characters out there that day. LOL! Need to get the Lone Star Crossfire Club thing going because I am going to PCS (Permant Change of Station) in November and will be representing the Lone Star State where ever Uncle Sam sends me.

You guys see the picture of my old dog in my avatar? I had to get rid of him because my wife would get freaked out with the way he stared at her when she was undressing.
Weather looks pretty good on Sunday. We have a family reunion this weekend and I'm hoping I can sneak out soon enough to make the Austin GTG.

The name Lone Star Xfires would seem to suggest a state club just as if it was called the Texas Xfires. As there is a an area club such as ours and there may be more. It is probably best to name it based on the area or city where the club began. If the members are from several cities in the area, the name should probably incompass that area. Our club has members from Schertz, Cibolo, New Braunfels, Hunt, Austin and Round Rock, hence, the Central Texas Crossfires.

Your probably right. Lone Star does sound all encompasing. How about (Bay Area) Just a thought, Houston Area sounds kinda restrictive. Im looking forward to our next gtg. not sure we even have one planned yet. . . . . .Do ya'll gather at other neighborhood car shows? I think it would be fun to show our cars to the vette/stangs clubs! whenever Iv'e gone to them I was the only crossfire there! There are neighborhood show/cruises all around Houston. usually Saturday nites.....I would like to make it out to one of your gtgs soon. Mine is in the body shop right now a woman backed into it, minor damage at least she covered the insurance on it...

Though I'm not a member in your club, if I was, I would suggest Eastern Texas Crossfires (ETC) as there is a Central Texas Crossfires (CTC). I don't think that is restrictive. Heck, you probably could even use our logo design to show Texas unity. Did you see the one the New England Club is working on? Borican from College Station attended our last GTG in the Texas Hill Country. Your club could encompass so many miles North, East, South and West of Houston. We have a member from Hunt which is about 80 miles NW of Schertz and a member from Round Rock about 20 miles North of Austin. Once the DFW area gets going they could cover North Texas. I haven't heard of anything going on in West or South Texas. We have a Local Cruise-in that our club attends on the 1st and third Friday of the month in Live Oak. If our Austin members suggested a Cruise-in in that area, we would attend also. I'm looking for the day when all Texas clubs can have a semi-annual or annual meet.

That would be great! I like vacationing in your area. I would make plans to attend a state wide meet. as for the group name, I think Miles and George have the wheel on the group and Im not sure when our next gtg will be. Right now Im drivin a p.o.s. I mean um PT Cruiser (rent car) Arggh.......I miss my xfire for sure!!!!
yeah, I went to our first gtg a few weeks ago. but I havent heard much since then. I would have gone to the first organizing mtg but they had it on a week day like thursday.... or I would have been there. not that I care about the planning of things, I just want to be envolved in a regular group. Ive owned many classic cars but never joined a club so Im really excited about this group getting off and running.... I sometimes go to the saturday nite classic car shows and people love our cars! I think we should go to one as a group....There is a huge one near Kemah on saturday nite we could meet a Hooters or the board walk (Starbucks?) then go to the show? Maybe they will read this? Any advice you have would be greatly appreciated.

I would be happy to. For it to happen, it takes every member's participation and commitment to make it happen. If it wasn't for our charter members to get it off and running, our club wouldn't be around now 7 months. As we have no officers, I try to stress that every member has ownership in the club and has input on how it runs. The majority decides.
